Opportunity
We are looking to hire a talented, intelligent, trustworthy and experienced teacher to join us and deliver virtual lessons that can foster interest and curiosity, in our elementary students, regarding science and encourage scientific thinking.
To be a successful science teacher, you should be a curious and lifelong learner, along with, being able to nurture curiosity in students by hands-on experiments and investigation, to foster an active learning environment that encourages student participation.
Responsibilities
- Virtually host and manage classrooms, via Zoom. Be able to use a variety of zoom features.
- Be able to learn to use a variety of virtual gaming platforms during class to supplement lessons.
- Plan and develop daily instruction outlines, classroom assignments, special projects, homework, and tests
- Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, demonstrations etc.
- Explain science concepts and principles to the students in a comprehensible manner
- Virtually, oversee the science laboratory activities
- Help students with their science projects
- Create a fun and engaging classroom environment
- Create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and voicing concerns.
Experience/Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience teaching children
- Must have a firm grasp on the periodic table of elements, space, animals, or biology etc.
- Must have good technical skills with technology and presentation tools
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Requirements
- Must have their own laptop or desktop computer, a Mac or Windows product, within 5 years of age, along with, supported hardware and software
- Must be able to install Zoom
- Must have a well-lit and quiet location to host classes
- Must have access to a printer
- Working hours are flexible but teachers must uphold the hours that they choose to host classes

- Ability to speak and teach students with poise, voice control and confidence
- Must be detail-oriented, effective at problem-solving, and have excellent instructional skills
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent classroom management abilities
- Must be able to communicate effectively with students and parents
